SimPlates IFR Approach Plates

SimPlates 2004 works just great "out of the box." However, this 1.13 upgrade fixes one small thing (the FAA preferred routes were not displaying correctly). As you know, SimPlates 2004 USA coverage is complete - we cover 99.9%+ of US Instrument Approaches. And, SimPlates 2004 has thousands more non-USA plates as well. However, the non-USA coverage is not 100% of airports. This upgrade allows users such as yourself to create and/or download additional plate packs that may fill in some of the missing pieces. As of this writing we have a complete plate pack for Denmark--we hope that, with your help, other plate packs soon follow. After you're done installing the upgrade, Click here to get PlatePacks. The 1.13 upgrade is a minor upgrade to 1.12 that makes SimPlates 2004 easier to use and may fix display issues for some people with certain high-end video cards. If you have 1.12 and are happy how things are working, then 1.13 is optional.

Upgrade Instructions:

Make sure SimPlates 2004 is not running.
Locate where you currently have SimPlates 2004 installed. Typically this is c:\program files\simplates2004 or something like that.
Download and open in WinZip (or whatever) the upgrade zip file below. In this zip file there is a file SimPlates2004.exe. Extract this file from this zip file such that it OVERWRITES the SimPlates2004.exe that is in your SimPlates 2004 installation directory that you identified in step 2.
Start SimPlates 2004. The first time you run v1.13, it will run a litle bit slower as it does some "one time cleanup" work then that takes a little bit of time. Be patient! On our systems this took less than 3 seconds to run, but if you have a significantly older system, it may take a bit more.
You can click on Help/About from the main menu. The version number is displayed at the bottom of that screen in red. Verify that you have v1.13. Success!
