Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series
HA1522
exclusive release for Tiger Hobbies UK
T-6  KF 183 currently on Task at  Boscombe Down
KF183 History

Manufactured by Noordyn Aviation Ltd in Montreal Canada as airframe Number
14A-1884, KF183 arrived at Liverpool in May 1944.  After a modification programme, it
was allocated to 7(P) AFU in December 1944 and later that same month, the aircraft was
transferred to No 7 SFTS at Peterborough until October 1945.  Following a further
modification programme, KF183 was transferred to No 3 FTS at Feltwell, remaining there
until November 1947.  Following this, KF183 was sent to the Air Torpedo Development
Unit at Gosport until January 1953 when it was re-allocated to A&AEE and eventually
QinetiQ at MOD Boscombe Down where it has served ever since.

The Harvard makes an excellent camera platform for low speed work and in particular it
has been used to film many parachute dropping trials.

As well as Trials support Photochase, the aircraft is flown by ETPS and for Continuation
Training (CT).  In addition to the above the Harvard is used by Battle of Britain Memorial
Flight (BBMF) and Royal Navy Historic Flight (RNHF) and other selected pilots, as a tail
wheel training aircraft.
