This
is the main study / practice / testing screen. We have made the
screenshot relatively small so that it will load nicely in most
browsers in this tour--when you use this in the program, you can
make this as big or as small as you like by resizing the window
or the individual panes in the window.
This
screen was designed with one purpose in mind: to train you on
the material in as efficient a manner as possible.
The
pane at upper left contains the current question. Simply click
on the correct answer. Above the question, you can see a "mark"
button (question 3 is marked). This is just like you'll get on
the actual FAA test.
Below
the question section there is a "control panel" of sorts.
Included here are a timer, and a way for you to explicitly mark
certain questions as difficult (and also other, more obvious buttons).
Don't know what something is? You can always click on the yellow
help button associated with it.
Below
the control panel is a list of the current questions. You can
use this to navigate through the current session.
The
figure pane is at top right. We have greatly increased the quality
of the figures from our previous versions. For example purposes,
we have loaded a figure that doesn't have anything to do with
the currently loaded question. You can always look at any figure
(just as you can in the real test). When a figure is associated
with a question, the figure is automatically displayed as well.
You can print or expand the figures (for a better view) by clicking
on the buttons on the figure. Our vesion 5 softwre contains not
only all of the figures that you need to reference, but also all
of the associated legends and other appendices.
The
bottom right pane contains additional information. This includes
the explanation / references / mnemonics for the given question
(though in our screenshot this is hidden until the test is submitted
for grading), a tab for our Aviation Library online reference,
and also some helpful advice for "taking the test" which
addresses test taking strategies and other should-read-at-least-once-before-taking-the-actual-test
type information.
