Once
you have selected a test in the test selections screen, you are
taken to this, the Study Areas screen.
Here,
the primary activity is selecting what topics you want to test
/ practice / learn on. This is done by selecting one or more checkboxes
from the box at upper left.
Additionally,
from this screen you can launch our question lookup tool. When
you click on the binoculars at lower left, you get taken to a
screen where you can look up one or more questions by a number
of criteria, including Keyword, FAA Subject Code, FAATest.com
Subject Area, whether you have explicitly marked this question
to be difficult for you, and more.
All
of our software features our reduced and super-reduced question
pool functionality. It is best to read the in-program documentation
(the help button) for a complete understanding of what that is
and what its strengths and weaknesses are. However, in brief,
what the reduced and super-reduced question sets are are the complete
question bank pared down into what our editors believe to be the
most representative, most often seen, and most difficult questions
(the "super reduced" pares down even more than the "reduced.")
Obviously, studying and learning the complete bank is best. But
when you are pressed for time, studying a reduced set can be a
big help.
Please
note: you may hear something from others who claim that they have
access to the "current FAA question set" and that they
have pared down their preparation material according to some "inside
knowledge" or somesuch. It is our belief that this is complete
nonsense. We've been dealing with these tests for a long time
and have concluded that what such places offer you is essentially
the same as what our editors do--their best guess. We urge you
to discount any claims that somebody has an "official"
or "current" FAA "active" questions list or
somesuch. It just isn't so. For what it's worth, people who study
our reduced or super-reduced sets only tend to do quite well indeed
if they really learn those banks. Again, it's not as good as learning
from the complete pool, but if your goal is to pass quickly, this
may be just the functionality that you need.
