Chapter 16 - Transition to Other Airplanes
This chapter is devoted to the factors associated with,
and the basic operating practices applicable to, a pilot checkout on
airplanes which have significantly different flight characteristics,
performance capabilities, and operating procedures from those airplanes
which the pilot has previously flown. Accident records indicate that some
pilots take unnecessary risks when they attempt to fly a different type of
airplane without familiarizing themselves with its peculiarities,
limitations, and systems. A knowledge and observance of the basic
practices discussed in this chapter may save many lives and unnecessary
accidents. |
